What's the difference between the Catholic artist and the mainstream Christian artist?  Great question!!!!  The mainstream Christian market music is predominately classified as glory and praise.  On rare occasion an issues based song shows up.  Catholic music transcends to a more complete plain.  Catholic artists sing about all aspects of spiritual life from the true presence in the Eucharist to the Mother of God to the Communion of Saints to hard hitting lyrics about abortion, euthanasia, war and hatred.  Once you've listened to a Catholic Christian artist the mainstream pales in comparison. Style is another character that varies dramatically from Contemporary to Rock to Country to Traditional to Contemplative.... you want it, we can find it!
